Melba Toast

Time for an update on our little melba toast.  I sometimes call her that cause when me and my mother in law were figuring out names she came up with that winner ha ha.  I had my 20 week ultrasound last week even though I was only 19 weeks. Today I met with Dr. England to go over everything that they found.  Which made it so fun cause our ultrasound tech was an idiot and she didn't tell me anything which I know they aren't supposed to but she pushed way hard on the baby which really hurt so I just didn't love her after that appointment.  Luckily it wasn't even at my hopsital so I still love all the people at my hospital.  So anyways here is what we found....

-She is definitely a girl! Woo woo
-I am farther along than they thought(I knew this day would come ha ha!)  I am a week ahead of what they thought.  So my new due date is NOVEMBER 8.  Love it.
-She is breech.  That is how all little ones are this early so that didn't really matter
-My placenta is in a good position, meaning it is not in front so I will really be able to start feeling her more in the next month.

They didn't find anything alarming or out of place which is so comforting.  I am just so glad that she is healthy and comfortable in there.  The worst thing was when we went to fetal foto to find out the gender and they had to poke her to get her to move so she would open her legs.  They didn't poke hard at all but it made her mad and she would kick out her legs and arch her back because she didn't like it.  Ha ha so lame to feel bad over but I felt so bad for her! Mama bear already?  Shoot.  I swear I'm not a crazy over protective person  ha ha anyways all is well in the tummy so we can just keep on truckin.

Now to be real... I have gained so much weight.  Freak man! I was doing so good up until this appointment.  I've gained 22 pounds ha ha and you are only supposed to gain like 25-30 in a pregnancy according to my doc.  Well great I am for sure going to tip the scale.  So no more onion rings and fry sauce? Damn.  Just kidding I really should eat healthier.  I have been sick the whole pregnancy so I actually stayed at a pretty healthy weight until now cause I am not as sick as often.  I really only get sick once every week and sometimes it goes to every other week. But lets get real hommies! You shouldn't try to control weight when you are pregnant.  Well I mean don't go off the chain and eat donuts and fried foods all day long but like you are going to gain weight when pregnant and as long as that baby is healthy that is all that maters.  So me and my "i like big butts"  behind will just keep on doing what needs to be done and try and be as healthy as possible.  Can't promise I am divorcing the onion rings though. :)

Here is my 19 week pic and my now 20 weeks and 4 days pic.

19 weeks

20 weeks and 4 days.  (every day counts!)

16 Weeks and Gender Reveal!

On Wednesday I hit the 16 week mark which was way fun.  I am still batteling being sick but it isn't as bad as it has been.  We just got back from a trip with our family and I was sick 3 times on the trip but haven't been sick since we got home so maybe I am out of the woods.... I really shoudln't jinks myself by saying that.  But I am hopeful! This week I have a new found energy.  Usually I get home from work and I just want to sit on the couch all  night but last night Davis and I worked in our yard until like 9 and I actually made dinner! Yeah I know total shocker cause I think I've cooked a whole big 9 times since we've been married.  It was fun to work in the yard too and plant flowers.  I still have yet to make a pretty planters pot like my moms.  She is the pro at those babies.  It was definitely interesting bending over for an hour to plant flowers with acid reflux.

Here is my 16 week picture....

I had an appointment with my doctor on Tuesday and everything is looking good.  Baby's heart rate was at 146 and I hadn't gained any weight from my last appointment.  Which didn't worry me cause I've heard of that a ton, it's just so weird cause my belly is totally huge.

Now the really fun news!  On Monday we went to fetal fotos to find out the gender.  We had gone at 14 weeks without telling anyone but the baby was not cooperating so we had to go back.  Which actually was fun cause we got to see the baby twice within a short time.  Anyways the baby is a girl!

We are so excited!!!! We both went into the second fetal foto appt feeling like it was a girl cause the first one just had no boy signs even though we couldn't see well enough we just felt like it.  Davis has been so flippin cute about having a little girl.  He calls her his precious girl already and has told me about how when she gets asked to a dance he is going to have a sit down with the boy.  Oh dear I have one of those on my hands! Anyways I am thrilled and have started plannig the nursery.  Which will be white themed.  I had wanted to do Black and Green no matter what gender but found this nursery on Pinterest that I fell in love with.

I love how feminine it looks. I probably won't be able to do a mirrored dresser because they are waaaay expensive but I think white will look great too.  And it's so awesome cause while we were in Switzerland I bought a real sheep skin rug so that worked out perfect! My mom gave me her old kitchen chandelier that I will spray paint silver which will look great.  Now the real trick is going to be finding a name for this little one.  Gladly taking suggestions!

12 Weeks

I had another appointment today with Dr. England and I was so excited because I was hoping he would measure the baby again to double check the due date.  Which he was so nice and did even though he had a girl in labor.  Well I was totally wrong! Darn it.  But it makes sense with how I've been sick. I am not 14 weeks this week I am only 12 weeks.  Which is ok! My doc was really nice this appointment and when he was doing the ultrasound he said,"The baby is laying on its back and crossing its legs, that's cute lets print it" ha ha such a small thing to be happy about but it made my day.  Dr. England is a great guy and so nice. This is the picture of the baby crossing its legs...

Ultrasounds can be so hard to read and tell where the baby is but this one is pretty good.  The big round part is the head.  It's fun to see a bigger blob with legs and arms!

Today the heart rate was at 154 so a little bit lower than last time but still strong and healthy sounding.  I still totally feel like it is a girl.  When I told Davis the heart rate today he said, yep i like it! Which for him means that there is still a chance that it is a boy because it was a little bit lower.  Pah little does he know about mother's intuition.  Plus its all just a myth anyways with heart rates and the way you carry. But ya never know till the doc tells ya right.  We both talked about what we want and at the end of the day we really don't care.  We've seen so many cute little baby girls and boys and we are just so excited to have a little one.
Here is my 12 week picture..... dont judge me I know I am big already.  Shoot.

It's here

The baby bump is here! Holy cow I am in some serious trouble if I am already showing.  Some girls are like 20 weeks and barely have a gut.  Jealous of those chics for sure. But it also makes being pregnant more fun.  I am 12 weeks according to me.  Yesteday the most amazing thing happened... I felt somewhat good! I know I may sound like a complete wuss/baby but man being sick all day gets oooooold.  And its not just wanting to throw up its heart burn, acid tummy, stretching, gas(i know gross but its real life!) and then the dry heaving.  Every time I get in a car I have to have a zip lock baggie cause I will dry heave at least 7 times. But yesterday and today I haven't felt the need to throw up and I've only dry heaved probably 5 times between the two days.  I have figured out that eating healthy fresh foods is key in making your food settle and sucking on peppermints all day makes life so much betteer. I'm really excited for my next appointment which is on April 30.  We will get to measure the baby again and see how much the due date changes.  Which it could easily not change and that is totally ok.  I can't wait to find out what it is so I can finally start going shopping.  I really haven't felt the urge to go cause I feel like crap every day but now that i feel good I get more excited to put the baby's room together and shop for clothes and all that fun stuff.

We have no clue what we are going to name this kid.  We had all these boys names that we loved and zero girls names.  Now we don't like all those boys names we had and we can't think of a girls name that we die over. I love names that have the letters K, Y and E in them. We have our work cut our for us in finding a name we both love.

Anyway here is the picture of the gut!

Oh and I think we are having a girl :)

After so many No's... we got a Yes!

Sort of a weird post title but it describes trying for a baby so well. Sorry if this post has "TMI" but that's part of pregnancy :)  I had to track when I ovulated while we were trying because I was all over the charts.  That my friends gets really old.  You not only go through the mental game of getting a bunch of No's from your ovulation tests but you also have to deal with it when the pregnancy test says No.  So it weights on you mentally real fast.  I am naturally a really impatient person so trying for a baby was killer! We tried for 5 months before it worked.  Which for me was sooo long! I have had so many people tell me that is nothing compared to the years they have tried.  Which they are so right.  For those who try for years and have no success my heart goes out to you.  I was not made to go through something like that.  I really think you people have hearts of gold and are the toughest ladies out there!

So today was our first doctor appointment.  I am 10 weeks and have had some pregnancy signs.  I didn't throw up once until after the appoinment today. Sort of ironic.  I have had major acid reflux though.  I've told Davis countless times that I would rather throw up and get it over with than have that constant acid reflux all day long. Call me crazy but it is torture. I feel totally fat too.  Which I just have to deal with because it is all for the baby but I totally see what girls mean when they are barely showing and say they still feel fat.  You just feel bloated all the time.  So anyways about the appointment.  My doctor is Edwin England and he is awesome.  He delivered my niece and my cousin's baby.  He got the ultrasound going which is sooooo cool! Once he got on the heart the heartbeat was so loud.  It's way fun to see your little baby even if they do look like a blob. For some weird reason the baby was measuring super small so he said I was two weeks off.  Which doesn't make sense cause I know when my last "Aunt Flow" was and there is no way I would only be 8 weeks.  The math doesn't work out. So I am chalking it up to a small baby that is still 10 weeks.  My original due date was Halloween and he changed it today to Nov. 13.  But I just know that the due date will change again once the baby is bigger so I'm not too worried.  And I'm still going to go off of being 10 weeks. The heart rate was 160.  Which is right in the middle of the boy and girl heart beat myth.  So we have zero hint as to what it is.  I honestly think it is a girl and davis thinks it is a boy.  But of course he thinks it is a boy. :)  Either way I love this baby so much already.  Pregnancy is one hard thing to deal with but so worth the prize in the end.  It's still weird to me to think I am going to be a mom! Some little snot face is going to call me mom.... crazy.  I'm feeling old ha ha.  Anyways here is the ultrasound! Cute.

Valentines

This year for Valentines we were both so busy that we didn't really plan anything.  Well at least I thought.  Davis is a better spouse than I am because he spent all day scheming and putting together a great date.  We've done a lot of fun things in our lives for Valentines Day.  In high school Davis took me to La Caille, In college we went snow boarding together, when we were engaged we went to his condo in Park City and spent the weekend playing and now we are married and we both asked the other what we planned like the night before and all we heard were crickets. Ha ha oh how things change when you get married.  But as always he out did himself and planned a way fun/memorable night and I get the loser wife card this time. Next year I am going to plan and way awesome Valentines for him.

He took me to Barbacoas and we got take out.  I love Barbacoas wrapped pork tacos.  If you haven't had them yet go right now... seriously go now.  You'll never go back to anything else cause they are Aca-awesome!  Then we drove up into the mountain by our house in Alpine and found a spot that he had staked out earlier in the day.  He got the bed of the truck ready with pads, sleeping bags and a space heater.  Yep a space heater! His truck is super high tech and has an outlet in it.... yeah so does every car I've ever owned... not! Ha ha who thinks to install an outlet in their car?! Genius people do. So we ate dinner in the bed of his truck and looked out over the city.  It was awesome and........... freezing butt cold.  So we exchanged gifts super fast cause we were both frozen.  I got him a gun cleaning pad from Cabellas that he has wanted since Christmas and he got me Safe Haven tickets.  I went to Costco like 2 weeks ago and bought the book so I was sooo excited about those tickets.

I am so lucky to be married to Davis.  He always out does himself in planning things for us that are way fun.  He has made my life so amazing and filled with fun memories and has made me a better person. I love him to the moon and back! Sappy right ;)

Scotland/Ireland

Callie told us like 6 ish months ago that she was going to go on a mission.  We sort of all didn't know how to stomach it, she is our baby sister and the only one in our family to ever serve a mission.  Actually she is the only girl on my mom's side to ever serve and the second girl on my dad's side. To say that we are proud of her is an understatment. She is servind in the Scotland/Ireland mission, arrives June 13 in the England MTC (yep she totally skips provo), speaking English. Our family is going to miss Callie so bad.  She is the funniest most amazing sister and friend I could ever have. Love you Cal-terd!

This is only part of the video of her opening it, the reaction from my family is classic.  If you really listen closely you can hear my dad yelling, "yes!" ha ha he was such a proud dad.
